Athletics New Brunswick is pleased to announce its 2017 award recipients. The ANB Awards Banquet Is held annually as a way to recognize the tremendous accomplishments and contributions of our athletes, coaches, officials and volunteers in athletics.

Frank Henderson was recognized with a lifetime achievement award for his many athletic achievements, but also for overcoming many personal challenges. These making him not only a well-decorated athlete, but also a highly respected human being. He was a 2-time Paralympian and silver medalist in the 4x60m relay in 1972 and Paralympic champion in the men's slalom in 1976.

The Bantam female winner was: Erin Vringer. (SJTC, Saint John)

The Bantam male winner was: Micah Landry. (SJTC, Saint John)

The midget female winner was: Shelby MacIsaac. (ASEA, Riverview)

The midget male winner was: Francois Richard. (ASEA, Dieppe)

The Youth female winner was: Kyla Hughes. (ASEA, Cocagne)

The Youth male winner was: Craig Thorne. (SJTC, Saint John)

The Junior female winner was: Laura Dickinson. (ASEA, Miramichi)

The Junior male winner was: Andrew LeBlanc. (FFT, Fredericton)

The Senior female winner was: Genevieve Lalonde. (SRNB, Moncton)

The Senior male winner was: Nick MacMackin. (SJTC, Saint John)

The Masters female winner was: Sharon Peabody. (SJTC, Saint John)

The Masters male winner was: Andy Justason. (FLTC, Fredericton)

The Para winner was: Shayne Dobson. (ASEA, Campbellton )

The U18 women's XC award winner was: Laura Dickinson (ASEA, Miramichi)

The U18 men's XC award winner was: Lars Shwarz (FLTC, Fredericton)

The women's XC award winner was: Sarah Myatt (UNA, Fredericton)

The men's XC award winner was: Brady Graves (SJTC, Saint John)

Team of the year: U23 men’s 4x100m team (Brandon Cleghorn (ASEA, Salisbury), Braden Harrison (FLTC, Fredericton), Tyrell Marin (FLTC Dalhousie), Alexander Williston (ASEA, Miramichi))

The Harold Nicholson volunteer of the year is: Scott Davis. (Fredericton)

The official of the year is: Edgar Vick. (Moncton)

The coach of the year is: Earl Church. (ASEA, Shediac Cape)

The female outstanding athlete awards winner was: Laura Dickinson (ASEA, Miramichi)

The male outstanding athlete awards winner was: Shayne Dobson (ASEA, Campbellton)

Congratulations to all of those who were nominated for all of your hard work and dedication through the last year and beyond, as well to the winners themselves, it is well deserved.
