At the CanWest Championships Adam Gaudes finished 10th in the 300m with a time 35.72. At the Atlantic Championship ANB members were very successful : UNB athletes : Sarah Myatt won the women’s 600m in 1:38.52. Teammate Alex Black won the Women’s shot put with a toss of 11.79m. Richard Ivey finished 2nd in the 60m with a time of 7.25. Alex Stuart was 3rd in the men’s 300m (38.49). James Murphy was 3rd in the men’s 1500m (4:10.12) U de Moncton:Jean Marc Doiron captures a silver in the 1000m (2:31.57) , a bronze in the 600m (1:23.59) and gold in the 4x400m. -Chelsey Hall (Fast Tracks) broke her own bantam and midget 1200m record with a time of 4:02.10. - Hannah Arsenault (Saint John Track club) establishes a new mark in the midget girls (13-14) 2000m with a time of 8:10.62. -Naomie Maltias (UdeM) establishes not only a new provincial record in the junior and senior weight throw but also set a new University de Moncton record with a throw of 12m61 - Aaron LeBlanc (ASEA) from Memramcook set a new youth (16-17) weight throw record with a toss of 12m91.
The competition also saw 3 new Field house records -Julianna Bois (Dalhousie U) in the triple jump with a leap of 10.91m -Geoff Harris (Halifast) in the men’s 1000m 2:28.75 -Hannah Trites (FFT) in the women’s 1000m (3:40.91)

Feb 2 2011 - ASEA Warm-up Meet to host World Athletics Day OTTAWA - Athletics Canada is pleased to announce today that the ASEA Warm-up Meet will play host to the International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF) World Athletics Day (WAD) on May 14, 2011. The event will take place at Moncton Stadium in Moncton, New-Brunswick site of the 2010 IAAF World Junior Championships. The ASEA Warm-up Meet will receive a grant from the IAAF to assist in the organization and operation of the competition, promotional materials will also be made available to assist in the promotion of the competition and of World Athletics Day 2011. Now in its 16th year, World Athletics Day is an initiative to promote athletics to youth worldwide. Last year’s edition featured participation from over 140 countries. This year youth athletes (born 1994 and 1995) and school based age groups (born 1996 to 1998) are the focus of the event.
