Nov 5 2017 - Atlantic Cross Country Championships Recap

On Saturday, Centennial Park in Moncton was host to the Atlantic Cross Country Championships! It showcased some of the best cross country talent from the Atlantic provinces.

The athletes who were 5 and under ran a 500m race, on the girls side Ella Lablanc won with a time of 3:16.93, second was Audree Roy with a time of 3:17.40 and third place went to Leah Friel with a time of 3:18.83. On the boys side Noah Mazerolle was the winner with a time of 2:50.04, second was Kieran Magee with a time of 3:04.29, and third was Vincent Vallee with a time of 3:08.04.

 

The 6 and 7 year olds ran an 800m race, on the girls side Mia Armstrong was the winner with a time of 4:19.38, second was Taylor-Lynn Brun with a time of 4:25.29, and third place was Annabelle Landry with a time of 4:27.27. On the boys side Matteo Leblanc was the winner with a time of 3:53.08, second was Jerome Drapeau with a time of 3:55.65 and third was Mathis Landry with a time of 3:58.07.

 

The 8 and 9 year olds ran a 1000m race, on the girls side Abigail Manson was the winner with a time of 4:41.47, second was Emily Thomas with a time of 4:44.19 and third was Myah Trottier with a time of 4:53.52. On the boys side Cameron Maccurdy won with a 4:23.59, second was James Fullerton with a time of 4:27.16 and third was Gavin Reagon with a time of 4:28.06.

 

The 10 and 11 year olds ran a 1500m race, on the girls side Felicia Mortimer was the winner with a time of 7:04.82, second was Anna Somers with a time of 7:08.37 and third was Tori Allen with a time of 7:11.11. On the boys side Liam Kilfoil won with a time of 6:34.68, second was Alexi Collette with a time of 6:35.62 third was Jonah Young with a time of 6:36.68.

 

The 12 and 13 year olds ran a 2000m race, on the girls side the winner was Emma Cameron with a time of 7:28.53, second was Cara MacDonald with a time of 7:35.40, third was Jessica White with a time of 7:47.81. On the boys side the winner was Nicholas Harvey with a time of 7:22.88, second was Luke Purdy with a time of 7:25.33 and third was Aaron Partington with a time of 7:37.31.

 

The 14 and 15 years olds ran a 3500m race, on the girls side the winner was Erin Vringer with a time of 13:20.58, second was Emily Doucet with a time of 13:43.43 and third was Siona Chisholm with a time of 13:44.15. On the boys side the winner was Francois Richard with a time of 12:33.35, second was Oliver Premier wit a time of 12:53.41 and third was Owen Enstrom with a time of 13:03.88.

 

From there everybody 16 years of age and up ran a 6000m race, on the women's side: the 16-17 year old winner was Tanna Burke with a time of 23:13.80, which was good for 3rd overall. The 18-19 year old winner was Tori Fitzpatrick with a time of 24:04.23, which was good for 5th overall. The 20-34 year old winner was Sacha Hourihan with a time of 22:21.90, which was good for the 1st overall spot.

The 40-44 year old winner was Julie Dupuis with a time of 28:31.30, which was good for 18th overall. On the men's side: the 16-17 year old winner was Jacob Benoit with a time of 19:43.92, which was good for the 1st overall finish.

The 18-19 year old winner was Tyler Adams with a time of 21:44.98, which was good for 5th overall. The 20-34 year old winner was Aaron Sellers with a time of 22:44.79, which was good for 11th overall.

The 35-39 year old winner was Grant Hadrigan with a time of 19:57.28, which was good for 2nd overall. The 40-44 year old winner was Colin McQuade with a time of 23:20.40, which was good for 15th overall.

The 45-49 year old winner was Carol Lepage with a time of 21:59.82, which was good for 6th overall.

The 50-54 year old winner was Dave Harju with a time of 22:41.26, which was good for 10th overall.

The 55-59 year old winner was Eduoard Bourque with a time of 28:45.02 which was good for 28th overall.

2-      Greater Moncton : 52 pts (7-9-10-11-15)

3-      Jackyl’s Avenue : 68 pts (1-6-18-21-22)

4-      Chaleur : 86 pts (14-16-17-19-20)
