May 14 2018 - ASEA Spring Open Recap

This past Saturday, May 12th the annual ASEA Spring Open kicked off New Brunswick’s track and field outdoor season at the Moncton Stadium. Many great performances were recorded in the sunny weather. A few of these great performances are outlined below.

Shelby MacIsaac of Riverview had a great weekend, finishing first in all three events. She won the midget 100m with a time of 13.10s, the 300m in a time of 42.14s, and high jump with a jump of 1.52m.

Maya Reynolds, competing for Halifast, put up great times, placing first in both the senior 100m and 200m with times of 12.34s and 25.47s, respectively.

Mackenzie Hall, competing for FastTrack, won the youth 400m and 800m. She broke the 60 seconds barrier in the 400m with a time of 59.50 sec.

On the men’s side Mike Van Der Poel, of Halifast, ran two great sprints to place first in both the senior 100m and 200m with times of 11.15s and 22.37s, respectively.

Owen Enstrom, competing for ASEA, claimed first in the midget 400m (54.35s), the 800m (2.07.88), and in high jump with a jump of 1.32m.

Jacob Leblanc, of Moncton, had a busy day racing in the 200m, 400m, and 1500m wheelchair with times of 32.69, 60.73, and 4.13.80 respectively.

Samuel Bourque, competing for ASEA, had a great meet in the shot and discus circles. Bourque won both the youth shot put with a throw of 14.83m and the youth discus throw with a throw of 41.10m.
