Call for Summer Students!

ANB is seeking the employment of summer students for the 2024 Outdoor Season. Multiple opportunities are available in different locations around the province. The successful candidates will be expected to enhance participation in the sport of athletics, produce and deliver programs in-person, and coordinate with community partners.

Positions Available (Pending Funding Approval):

 

1. Sport Program Administrative Coordinator:

 

Description: The coordinator ensures the smooth operation of the sports program by managing administrative tasks, coordinating schedules, and providing support to coaches. They act as a central point of contact for communication and contribute to program success.

 

Duties:

  • Manage administrative tasks.

  • Coordinate schedules and communication.

  • Assist in budget management.

  • Maintain accurate records.

  • Collaborate with other departments.

 

2.Athletics Coach:

Description: The coach is dedicated to cultivating athlete skills, providing guidance, and fostering a positive team culture. They play a pivotal role in individual and team success through effective training, performance analysis, and strategic planning.

 

Duties:

  • Assist current coaches in the development training programs.

  • Provide skill guidance.

  • Analyze performance.

  • Monitor athlete progress.

  • Plan for competitions.

  • Foster a positive team environment.

 

3.Social Media Coordinator:

Description: The coordinator is the online voice of the sports program, creating an engaging online presence through strategic planning and community engagement. They use social media to promote achievements, build a supportive community, and enhance program visibility.

 

Duties:

  • Develop social media strategies.

  • Create engaging content.

  • Manage social media accounts.

  • Monitor trends and metrics.

  • Collaborate for cross-promotion.

  • Engage with followers.

  • Stay updated on social media best practices.

 

ANB is in search of applicants in the following regions (Pending Funding Approval):

  • Saint John/Rothesay

  • Moncton

  • Fredericton

  • Bathurst 

 

Additional Duties and Requirements for these positions include the following: 

  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends, when programs and competitions require

  •  Able to travel to the local club facility or to local community centres for programming assistance

  •  Assist in the delivery and administration of ANB Special Projects, including Run Jump Throw and Athletics For All

  •  Proficiency in social media platforms and technological literacy is considered an asset

  •  Good knowledge of the sport of Track & Field and the RJTW program

  •  Bilingualism would be an asset

  • Other related duties as required

     

Potential candidates need to be 16 years or older and returning to studies in the fall. This position is ideal for university students interested in kinesiology or recreation studies, and individuals who are proactive and able to work independently and in a group. All positions' contributions are key to the continued expansion of Track and Field throughout New Brunswick.

Positions can range between 8 and 12 weeks in length (depending on funding approval), 35 hours per week These positions are funded via NB SEED, and Canada Summer Jobs and will begin in May or June.
