ANB Performance Pathway Addition

Posted on Mar 7 2024

We are delighted to share the exciting news of our recent success in securing funding through the Canadian Sport Institute Atlantic (CSIA) with the goal of elevating our high-performance pathway. This significant achievement marks a pivotal moment for us as we strive to create the best conditions possible for our athletes to succeed. The acquired funds will play a crucial role in expanding and enhancing our Athlete Development Support Program (ADSP). Two innovative components will be added: a warm weather speed and power camp, and an out-of-province competition tour.

In anticipation of the upcoming outdoor season, we are extending a unique opportunity to our high-performance athletes. A two-week warm weather training camp awaits them at the prestigious National Training Center in Clermont, Florida. Scheduled from May 1 to 14, 2024, this camp is designed to provide an optimal daily training environment for speed-power athletes. This is particularly beneficial during a period when training outdoors in New Brunswick is challenging due to unpredictable weather and cold conditions.

Key Details:

Date of Camp: May 1 - 14, 2024

Eligible Athletes: All participants must be over 18 years of age and categorized under the Elite, High Performance, or Performance Levels of the ADSP Program. Further criteria will be outlined in the coming days.

Cost Details: While costs will be subsidized by ANB, athletes are required to contribute a flat-rate fee. This contribution will assist in covering airfare and accommodations.

For any inquiries or expressions of interest, athletes are encouraged to reach out to our High-Performance Director, Steve Leblanc, at teamatlantic@yahoo.ca.

This initiative marks a pivotal step towards optimizing our athletes' training conditions and fostering their growth on the national stage. We look forward to witnessing the impact of this enhanced high-performance pathway on the achievements of our athletes.
