Athlete of the Month: December 2024

Max Mazerolle has been named Athlete of the Month for December after an exceptional start to his indoor season at the Rouge et Or Invitation hosted by Université de Laval. Max achieved an impressive total of 4,805 points (7.26 / 6.47 / 11.66 / 1.75 // 8.65 / 4.20 / 3:01.14), earning second place overall and setting new records for both the New Brunswick U23 and Université de Moncton heptathlon categories.

Adding to his accolades, Max tied the New Brunswick indoor pole vault records for U23 and Senior categories with a remarkable jump of 4.20m. His performance also secured top national rankings: 4th in the U Sports Heptathlon, 11th in pole vault, and 12th in the 60m hurdles.

Now in his fourth year of university competition, Max is pursuing a bachelor's degree in kinesiology at Université de Moncton. As a member of Aetos Athletica and captain of UMoncton's men's track and field team, Max consistently demonstrates leadership and athletic excellence.

"He is very athletic, excelling in multiple sports, but his commitment and consistency are the keys to his success. His performance at Laval was a real game-changer," said coach Steve LeBlanc.

In recognition of his outstanding achievements, Max will receive an athlete package from NLU Sports.
