Belyea Brings Home Gold from Masters Indoor Champs

The Canadian Masters Athletics Indoor Championships took place this year on March 11 and 12 in Toronto, with athletes competing from all over the country. Atlantic Indoor Track & Field Championships Recap

The Atlantic Indoor Track & Field Championships took place this weekend at the CEPS facility of the Université de Moncton campus. New Brunswick athletes performed greatly, with 8 provincial records being set. New Brunswick's best university athletes were in action this weekend at the USports Track & Field Championships, taking place in Edmonton, Alberta. Strong performances lead to four relay medals (1 gold, 1 silver, and 2 bronze) and three provincial records! On the women's side: - Sarah Myatt of Fredericton, competing for Dalhousie University, finished 8th in the 600m with a personal best time of 1:33.55, and tied for 8th in the 1000m with a personal best time of 2:51.21.... >> more

Recently, I read a book titled Practice Perfect by Doug Lemov, Erica Woolway, and Katie Yezzi.  This book provided 42 rules for improvement.  Athlete of the Month

Athlete of the Month (February 2017): Alain Doucet and Sydney MacDonald. Both Alain and Sydney had an incredible weekend during the AUS Championships. Alain won the menís heptathlon with a score 4370 and a clearance in the pole vault of 4.11m. Both these performances are new New Brunswick U23 and Senior records, and also AUS meet records. Sydney won the womenís pentathlon in a new New Brunswick U23 record with a score 3122. She also broke the New Brunswick U23 and Senior records in the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.01 during the pentathlon. She also won bronze in the individual 60m hurdles with a time of 9.15.
