Laura Dickinson Smashes Canadian U20 Record

Only one day into December, three Canadian records were broken in the 5000m. At the Boston University / Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener in Boston, Massachusetts, both the men's and the women's U20 national records were broken, along with the women's U23 record. Geneviève Lalonde named to represent Canada

Athletics Canada announced today the 24 athletes who have been selected to represent Canada at the 2019 NACAC Cross Country Championships (Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago) and 2019 IAAF World Cross Country Championships (Aarhus, Denmark) set to take place on Feb. 16 and March 30, respectively.  Among  the athletes named is Geneviève Lalonde of Moncton.  Athlete of the Month

Athlete of the Month (December 2018): Laura Dickinson. In her final month of the U20 category, South Nelson’s Laura Dickinson ended off her junior years in spectacular fashion. At the Boston University / Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener in Boston, Massachusetts, Laura smashed the Canadian U20 record in the 5,000m, clocking a time of 16:10.65. The performance broke the former record, set in 2016, by over twenty seconds.
